 In some areas of the US, a 'curfew' is imposed, in which teenagers are not allowed to be out of doors after a particular time at night unless they are accompanied by an adult.

In some parts of America, a restriction is inflicted by the authorities, wherein adolescents are not permitted to be out after a specific hour at night unless they are escorted by a mature person. In my opinion, this is an efficient decision taken by the government. In this essay, I will elaborate on why it may be harmful to young people to go out alone after dark in several areas of the country.

There is a big chance of something dreadful happening to them after dark as these areas might be infamous for illegal activities. Since most teenagers are reckless as well as carefree by nature they are more at risk of being attacked. Not only a person might become traumatized if they are targeted but also may have to take therapy sessions to come out of it. Furthermore, wrongful activities like abduction and molestation are very common with them, which are a way of extracting ransoms from their families. For example, it was reported by the famous newspaper The Guardian that around 2 lakhs adolescents become the target of a crime annually, especially after dark in the United States of America. Thus, it is a good idea to keep the movement of teenagers in check, at least in crime-prone areas.

Moreover, they themselves can become criminals by developing friendships with the wrong elements active in these parts. These locations are the habitats of plenty of lawbreakers, who become active especially during the evening hours. The majority of teenagers are immature and do not sometimes understand the consequences of deviating towards an offensive direction, rather it may appear very attractive to them as these crimes are methods of making easy and swift money. They might be lured into committing a crime in return for money which can destroy their whole life and can get them arrested. For example, according to a survey, most of the juvenile criminals confessed when asked that they deviated towards the illegal path due to developing a connection with unlawful people. Therefore, it is in their best interest if they are protected by limiting their movement.

However, many of the above-mentioned situations could be avoided if they go out with an adult during the mentioned time period. This is because they can guide juveniles about what is right for them. Also, the company of a mature person will keep many threats away.

To conclude, it would be right to say that the government has taken a judicious decision by imposing this ban because it will reduce the criminal activities as a result the crime rate will decrease and there will be fewer juvenile victims as well as accused.
